Q: Should babies be baptized?

scripture reference

At Eagle Mountain International Church, the church at Kenneth Copeland Ministries, our common practice is to hold baby dedication services where parents and guardians pledge to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Some Christian denominations, such as the Methodist Church, practice a form of baby baptism which does not promise lifelong salvation, but is rather an impartation of God’s grace upon the child and parents. These baptisms also require the dedication of parents and guardians to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. While there are some distinctions between dedication and the type of baptism practiced by the Methodist Church, there are many more similarities. In both cases, it is recognized that baptism does not bring lifelong salvation, but instead it is through the commitment of godly parents and the supernatural power of God that a child will grow up to serve the Lord.
