Q: How big of a part is giving in following Jesus?
Jesus often told His followers to give: “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back” (Luke 6:38).
When we give, we are following Jesus just as much as when we suffer persecution or do any other thing in Jesus’ Name. We must remember that money is but a symbol of our giving of ourselves (time, effort, etc.) and by giving to the gospel, we are continually giving ourselves to Christ. Giving is a part of our discipleship with Him!
