Is THE BLESSING of God Really for You?

12 Sep 2015

by Gloria Copeland

We often don’t know in advance what great blessings are on the other side of our obedience to the Lord. We don’t know exactly what wonderful things He has in store for us until we step out by faith and do what He says. What we do know, however, is this: God has a plan for every one of us. It’s a great plan! It includes prosperity, healing, peace, well-being and everything else we need to live a satisfying life. If you are wondering if THE BLESSING of God is really for you, then I’ve got good news for you!

God’s BLESSING in the Garden of Eden

From Genesis to Revelation God’s plan has been clear—to bless His people in every way. That’s why, in the Garden of Eden, God provided Adam and Eve with everything good and nothing bad. They had plenty of food, perfect weather and lots of gold. They were BLESSED!

Of course, they messed things up pretty quickly. Disconnecting from THE BLESSING through disobedience, they brought the curse on all mankind. But God refused to leave things that way.

God’s BLESSING Promised to Abraham

If you want to know what THE BLESSING of God includes, read Deuteronomy 28. That’s where God outlined THE BLESSING and the curse for His people. And to experience His BLESSING, you only needed to do one thing: “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world” (Deuteronomy 28:1). Just read what God has promised to you as one of His children.

God’s BLESSINF Through Jesus

God sent Jesus to redeem us from the curse and restore THE BLESSING (Galatians 3:13-14). He sent us a Savior so we can all live in the fulfillment of scriptures like Psalm 91:16 where God says, “With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.”

Satisfied in every area of life! That’s what the Lord wants you to be. But what connects you to that satisfaction is faith. Without it, some things might work out for you, but there will always be problems you won’t know how to solve. Bad things will happen, and you won’t know what to do about them. You won’t have an answer.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that when you’re connected, bad things won’t ever happen in your life. Sometimes they might. But when they do, you’ll have an answer for them. You’ll be able to change them with the Word of God.

Don’t doubt that THE BLESSING of God is for you. Through Jesus, you’ve been redeemed from the curse. THE BLESSING that God promised to His people is yours too, so no matter what happens in this crazy world, you can live in THE BLESSING of God.

We are called to minister together.
