4 Principles for Experiencing the Blessing of God

12 Sep 2015

As a Christian, you have access to the Blessing, God’s provision and favor. According to Deuteronomy 28, “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God” (verse 1-2).

The Word of God promises that you will experience the Blessing when you obey Him, and to do that effectively, begin practicing these four principles:

1. Experience the Blessing of God by Trusting Him

Recognize that God’s way is better than yours. Resist the desire to take matters into your own hands and instead trust Him for questions or problems you have. Remember Romans 15:13, which says, “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit” (New Living Translation).

2. Experience the Blessing of God by Obeying

Deuteronomy 28 makes it clear that obedience to God’s Word is paramount to experiencing the Blessing. Make the choice to read, study and apply the Word to your life and let it come alive to you.

3. Experience the Blessing of God by Recognizing Your Worth

Jesus paid the ultimate price to make salvation available to you and every other person. God ordained Jesus’ death as payment for every sin out of love. First John 4:10 says, “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” Reflect on that verse. God loves you. Your value comes from Him, and He considers you precious.

4. Experience the Blessing of God by Ridding Yourself of Fear

Fear will keep you paralyzed, unable to make Spirit-led decisions or respond in God-ordained ways. Second Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Fear is never of God.

Today is the perfect day to begin experiencing the Blessing of God. Put these principles into practice and never look back. There is a more fulfilling Christian life waiting for you!
