Jesus didn’t just talk about mercy—He lived it. It was the foundation of every miracle, every teaching, every word He spoke. Everywhere He went, He was moved by compassion. And now, as joint heirs with Him, we are called to do the same—move by mercy, and the same compassion Jesus lived by.
Called to Carry Mercy
In Matthew 10:8, Jesus gave His disciples a clear assignment:
“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.”
The call hasn’t changed. If you’re a child of God, you’re a minister of mercy. You’ve received the mercy of God—and now it’s your turn to give it away.
Mercy isn’t reserved for a pulpit, we are called to share in Jesus’ ministry of mercy every day, everywhere we go. At work. At home. In the grocery store. In your church.
Wherever you go, mercy goes with you.
The Power of Compassion
Kenneth Copeland teaches, “Faith works by love, and God is love. Mercy and compassion act. Nothing is too great for them.”
When you respond to others with compassion—whether it’s through a prayer, a word of encouragement, or an act of kindness—you activate the supernatural. Jesus didn’t heal because people deserved it. He healed because He was moved by mercy.
You may feel unqualified. You may feel like someone else would do a better job. But God placed His Spirit and His mercy inside you for a reason. The world needs to see His love in action.
Mercy says: There’s something we can do.
Mercy says: Let’s pray.
Mercy says: Be healed in Jesus’ Name!
Your Mission of Mercy
God’s mercy is not limited by your past. It is new every morning. Yet many believers struggle to receive it because they let guilt or fear talk them out of God’s best. Mercy is not a license to sin—it’s the way out.
When you sin, don’t run from God—run to Him. He’s faithful and just to forgive. His mercy will clean you, restore you, and give you the strength to walk in victory. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Let today be a turning point. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your steps and open your eyes to opportunities to extend mercy. Look for those who need prayer. Speak healing over someone who’s sick. Offer forgiveness even when it’s hard.
Jesus said in Luke 6:36, “Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.”
That’s not a suggestion—it’s an invitation to live like Jesus.
Mercy Flows
Mercy was the method of Jesus—and it’s your mandate too. Step into the flow of compassion and watch the power of God work through you.
Every act of mercy is an act of victory.
Meditate on these scriptures:
- Matthew 9:36 – Jesus was moved with compassion.
- Matthew 10:8 – Freely you have received, freely give.
- Luke 6:36 – Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
You carry the same mercy Jesus carried. Don’t hold it back. Release it and watch miracles follow.
Jesus is Lord!
