From television to movies and magazines, we are flooded with voices telling us we have any number of possible choices that can bring deliverance from our fears, peace about death and success in life. Even voices from religious tradition have brought confusion about what it means to gain and keep our salvation. God does not want man spending life on earth continually questioning whether he is saved, always fighting thoughts that he isn’t good enough or hasn’t done enough to earn God’s favor.
For the clear truth about salvation, listen to the voice of God’s Word:
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. …In fact, it says, “The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. …For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 8:1-2, 10:8-10, 13).
God made Jesus, who knew no sin, to be sin for you, “so that we could be made right with God through Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:21). Everything was made right between you and God when you made Jesus your Lord.
Jesus took your sin upon Himself. He took your sickness. You didn’t do anything to deserve that.
Romans 10:13 plainly tells us that “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” That’s the good news! Salvation is available to you, no matter who you are. All you have to do is accept it by making Jesus your Lord.
Your right-standing with God was bought with a high price. Don’t take it lightly. Receive it and get ready for a new life in Christ!
