God wants all of His people blessed. In fact, we have specifically been given Abraham as an example of how we are to receive God’s prosperity. And if there is one thing we know about Abraham, it’s that he was blessed extravagantly.
One way Abraham was certainly blessed was in possessions. We are told he was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. He and Lot became so prosperous, there wasn’t room for both of them in the same area (Genesis 13:2, 5-6). That’s important to you and me because Galatians 3:13-14 says that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law…. “God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham [that’s us!].”
As long as our focus remains on Jesus, we can enjoy financial prosperity as part of our covenant with God! We encourage you to study God’s Word where prosperity is concerned. You can start with the following scriptures:
Genesis 12:16
Deuteronomy 8:18
Deuteronomy 28:8-13
Joshua 1:8
Psalm 37:4
Psalm 35:27
Matthew 6:33
2 Corinthians 9:8-9
Philippians 4:19
3 John 2
