Every believer has been given faith. And that’s just part of the story. Jesus said for each believer, that measure is more than enough to move mountains (Mark 11:23)!
There’s a lot of faith at our disposal the moment we are born again. So how do we develop ourselves to increasingly access faith for the challenges of everyday living? The Bible answers that question clearly: “So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ” (Romans 10:17). So to start the process, find out what God has said. Open your Bible and discover what belongs to you.
Next, take that Word and keep it in front of your eyes. Keep it in your ears and in your mouth. Proverbs 4:20-22 puts it this way: “My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.”
Finally, a powerful faith builder is available for every believer. It is praying in the spirit. Jude 20 says, “But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit.” Praying in other tongues is a spiritual exercise. As you spend time every day praying in tongues, you are keeping your spirit active rather than passive.
Wanting to see ourselves operating in more faith and experiencing more results is a natural part of spiritual growth. And God has made it easy. Fellowship with Him by giving attention to the promises of His Word.
