God has a special plan for you that is filled with good things (Jeremiah 29:11)! The great news is that according to John 16:13 the Holy Spirit is available to be your Teacher and lead you on the path God has for you.

Since the earth and all that’s in it is belongs to God (Psalm 24:1), and He has made us the stewards of all that He has placed in our hands, having a budget is simply a way to ensure that the resources you receive are used in a manner that pleases the Father. Having a solid financial plan is godly wisdom and can definitely lead to a life of prosperity.

In Creflo and Taffi Dollar’s book The Successful Family, they list some steps that help when it comes to managing finances:

“God wants you to be wise and use common sense where your money is concerned…. It’s vital that you…develop a solid plan for your monetary survival and the well-being of your family. You can begin by setting aside time each week, or each day if possible, for you and your spouse [if you are married] to take care of financial matters. Set up this time as though it was a business meeting and you are the CEO of a corporation.

“Luke 14:28 tells us, ‘For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?’ A budget helps you to ‘count the cost’ to see whether or not you can afford to buy the things you want. It has nothing to do with how much money you make. It simply shows what you have to work with and tells you where the money is going by listing your expenses for each month…. It’s okay to treat yourself every now and then—just stay within your budget.”

God desires that you prosper and He will show you the way to prosper as you seek His direction!
