Sin is sin, whether premeditated or not. James 1:14-15 says, “Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.” Now that’s actually good news when it comes to forgiveness, because it puts all sin in the same category.
You see, when a man walks in the light that he has received, the blood of Jesus will continually cleanse him. However, if he does sin, he has an advocate with the Father, who is faithful and just to forgive him and cleanse him from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:6-9). This does not give a man the license to sin. But if he does fall short of the mark, he should never run from God, but run to Him. God still loves him, and forgiveness is available to him (1 John 2:1-2).
