The blessing on the tithe is needed by the believer on a fixed Social Security/disability income as much as any other believer: “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease…” (Malachi 3:10-11).
Tithing is on the gross of all income—we believe that includes fixed. Remember, tithing is for God to get provision to you, not take provision from you. That provision, according to Malachi 3:10-11, is for the tither to expect God to pour out a blessing there is not room enough to receive and to rebuke the devour.
Another promise from God is that He will supply all of our need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Now that’s the flow of blessing we want to be sure and get in on—whether our income is fixed or not! We encourage you to trust the Lord in the area of finances.
